Training manuals for any industry can be the most boring, dry, uninteresting things to have to read, and sometimes are a major obstacle to staffing positions of need. This is where video comes in. Datacomm was faced with a challenge when they began implementing their new systems in the FAA field, and needed to find a way to bring air traffic controllers up to speed quickly. So they came to Gearshift.tv.

Course Work Made Easy

Using a combination of teleprompter studio shoots, simulations captured on a computer, and some stock footage we were able to develop an eleven video training course to teach old and new air traffic controllers how to use the new system. Having an effective spokesmodel to read the teleprompter comes in handy during this stage. We recruited Nancy to use her voice to bring the instructions to life for the air traffic controllers in training. Having a professional ready to read on camera is paramount to the productivity of a video shoot and the final quality of the video. 

Keeping our Airways Safe

The importance of a video like this was not lost on us, so we took extra care to make them as informative as possible. But they also need to be interesting, and that is where sleek, professional editing comes in. To that end, we spruced up the final product with graphics to give the final product some flair. The videos have been a huge success, and though we've had to continue to update them to match changing standards, we are confident that these videos will make the hiring and training process for the FAA much easier for years to come. The money they will save on training with these videos will make a huge difference in keeping the airways safe for travelers going forward.
