This shot is an awesome study in landscape photography. It is made possible through the use of a wide angle lens. For amateur photographers it is massively important to learn how to use the different kinds of lenses, whether they are wide angle or telephoto. In this photo, the wide angle gives a great sense of the landscape as it gives the view a scope of the golf course and a nice view of the mountain in the background. You don't lose track of the subject however, which is important. The eye is drawn right to the golfer, but there are so many more details to see in the photo, which is the great thing about wide angle lenses!
