Culture and Video

Video can be more than just business marketing. It can also showcase traditions and culture. It can also educate people about a whole new way of life they never knew about before. When the Haitian embassy reached out to Gearshift to help out with their diplomacy initiative we were more than happy to help.

Haitian Cooking

Jim traveled to the embassy and was greeted by several chefs serving as cultural ambassadors, ready to teach prospective students the ins and outs of Haitian cooking. A kitchen is a great place to get shots, if you happen to thinking about hiring videographers for your restaurant or cooking workshop. The array of colors in the vegetable ingredients, the sizzle of the pans as the meals cook, and the final presentation of the food all show great on the screen in 4k. As you can see in the video, everyone learned a lot and enjoyed great food by the end of the day.

Cultural Connections on Screen

Video is a great way to educate people not just in your area, but anywhere across the globe about your culture. Anyone can watch this video and learn something about Haitian cooking, and that is something we at Gearshift think is amazing. It is evident in the video just how enriched the participants in the diplomacy initiative were because of the program. Video is a special medium because of its ability to quickly and clearly convey such complex ideas as culture, and the impact that sharing such ideas can have on a community. Video has many other uses, however, especially for businesses trying to communicate their corporate culture to a wider audience. Gearshift remains ready to help anyone put their culture on the screen.
