Celeb PowerIt can be hard to develop an effective concept for an ad. You always need to be asking questions about your audience; what will reach them best. We have found a quick and easy answer when you're struggling to think up the next viral concept is to recruit celebrity endorsements! For this ad, we worked with Ryan Kerrigan, a linebacker for the Washington Redskins. Immediately that name is recognizable to many people in Mattress Warehouse's target market, and serves as a more effective testimonial than the average customer would.
The true advantage to using celebrity endorsements in your videos is that they work double duty. Not only does the name attract a bigger audience and add extra credibility, it also works as a testimonial. If you're familiar with our other video projects, you should know that the simplest and easiest concept to produce are testimonial videos. You can say what your business is about all day, but hearing it from customers is more effective to your target audience. That is doubly true for celebrity endorsements.
Mattress Warehouse came to the above conclusions and decided to bring on Gearshift to produce the ad. We've worked with Kerrigan before and made many videos like this before (see our Paisano's ads). We met Kerrigan at Mattress Warehouse's location and set to work capturing the footage we needed. A shoot like this is super simple and requires minimal on set time. By the time we set up our lights and had Kerrigan mic'd up and ready to go, we were already halfway done! Once we had his testimonial recorded, we got some pick up shots of him going through their testing process, and that was a wrap! See how simple the production process is?
