A very quick way to tell if a video is amateur or professional is to see how much the camera is shaking during any particular shot. It can be hard to hold a camera steady for even fifteen seconds at a time to capture the action, so how do professionals get steady, smooth looking shots? Most of the time through the use of a tripod, but what if you need to be more mobile during a shoot, such as when you're grabbing b-roll for a grand opening highlight? A gimbal is your best friend in that case. As you can see in the picture above Jim is using a GoPro attached to a gimbal to give his shot motion without the camera shake. If you want a steady shot that's also able to be moved around, look into getting a gimbal!
